Experts: Russians prefer Ostrovok, Yandex Travel for online booking

MOSCOW, Dec 27 (PRIME) -- Russian travelers have preferred booking trips via online services Ostrovok and Yandex Travel in 2023, news and research agency TelecomDaily said on Wednesday in a statement.

“As of the end of 2023, more than 50% of all online bookings were represented by two services – Ostrovok.ru with 29% and Yandex Travel with 23%,” the research read.

Other popular services were Sutochno.ru, 101 Hotels, Bronevik/ÌÒS Travel, and Avito.

After almost all the foreign online services, like Booking.com and Airbnb, quit Russia in 2022 users had to book directly with hotels.

“In 2023 the local services managed to regain the market. The share of direct bookings started declining and reached less than a half of the whole volume of online orders by the end of the year,” TelecomDaily said.
